| DCHS Marching Band |
There will be a marching band informational meeting for all new parents and students on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30pm in the DCHS Band Room. All other marching band members and parents will meet at 7:30pm that same evening (May 10). Please attend so you can receive valuable information about the season. The calendar has all current dates for the color guard, percussion, and wind section.
DCHS Band Hits 31 Finalist Appearances with a 8th Place Finish at CBA State Championships!
The 2011 DCHS Band had an amazing season. Their hard work and passion for music is a direct reflection of their character. Even with all the obstacles they faced this year (new director, rehearsing at a different location, weather, and given less time to prepare the music) the students gave one of the best state performances in their 31 years of state finals.
The 2012 season will continue to push the students performance level to new hights.
Congratulations to the DCHS Band, staff, and community for a great finish to the season.
DCHS Marching Band season success at a glance:
-CBA State Championship Parade: 3rd Place 5A
-Arapahoe Invitational: Finalist, 1st Place 5A, 3rd place overall
-Pomona Invitational: Finalist, 6th place 5A, and 8th place overall
-CBA Metro Regional Qualifying Festival: 4th Place
-CBA State Championships: 8th place 5A(31st season as a state Finalist!)

| Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band |
The Wind Ensemble is a second semester performing group composed of the most advanced students of the DCHS Band Program and the sections tend to be smaller usually featuring one player on a part. The highest quality traditional and contemporary literature for wind band is explored through intense instruction and performance. Enrollment in Wind Ensemble is by audition only.
The DCHS Symphonic Band features large sections of every instrument with multiple players on each part. This ensemble also participates in numerous contest festivals throughout the second semester.
Congratulations on a successful 2012 concert season!
The Wind Ensemble received a Excellent Rating at the CBA Concert Band Festival. The Symphonic Band received a Good rating. Both ensembles look to build on their success as they move into the 2012 - 2013 school year. |

| Conflicts and Band |
| This ensemble meets during the school day for students who are committed to activities and athletics that hinders their ability to participate in marching band due to conflicting schedules. Concert Band may be repaeated for credit. At the conclusion of the first semester, concert band members will audition for their band placement for the second semester. |

| Jazz Ensemble |
Jazz Ensemble meets every Monday. This is a course for .5 credit.

| Marching Percussion Ensembles |
The DCHS Winter Percussion Ensemble competes in the PSA Marching Class in the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association.

| Color Guard |
| CONGRATULATIONS to the guard for their first place finish at RMCGA state championships. They capped off a great undefeated season as the National Scholastic A Champions. |
